How big will the 2017 holiday shopping season be?

With more Americans participating in Black Friday year over year, the higher the usage of credit cards country-wide and increased debt. There are a number of ways to avoid spending what you don’t have this shopping Holiday:

  1. Set a budget – Don’t go over that budget even though the temptation will be very real. If you can help it, spend cash, and leave your credit cards at home.
  2. Stay aware of Cyber Monday deals (the Monday after Thanksgiving) – Don’t just focus on the day after Thanksgiving. Amazon.com runs some amazing Cyber Monday deals and you don’t want to miss out!
  3. Pay attention to deals offered on Green Monday – The last day to shop online and easily get your package before Christmas. Green Monday is the second Monday in December. It’s also known as Cyber Monday 2 because it’s the second biggest day for online holiday shopping.

If you’re planning on participating in Black Friday 2017, try to be cautious about if what you’re spending is what you need to spend vs. what you want to spend. Prioritize your shopping items and try to bargain hunt for the biggest deal. After all, Black Friday is all about savings. However, if you find yourself waking up the day after Black Friday with a wicked spending hangover, we offer personal loans that might be able to help you consolidate debt and put your mind at ease this season. Good luck! May the odds be ever in your favor this Black Friday.
